Effective January 1, 2020, the IMO introduced a regulation capping the sulfur content in vessel fuel oil at 0.50% m/m (mass by mass). In designated Emission Control Areas, the limit is even stricter at 0.10% m/m. One of the key solutions for compliance is the use of scrubbers, also known as Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems (EGCS), which remove sulfur oxides from exhaust emissions.
Scrubbers are equipped with gas analyzers that monitor exhaust gas composition before and after treatment. These analyzers are essential for measuring SO₂ emissions and ensuring compliance with IMO regulations.
To maintain accurate and reliable readings, regular calibration is required. Aces supplies both standard SO₂ calibration gases and custom gas mixtures tailored to specific needs.
With readily available stock, we ensure fast and efficient delivery of calibration gases for all gas analyzer brands, helping you stay compliant and operational.
Calibration gas is essential for scrubbers to function optimally. It guarantees the accuracy of sensors monitoring exhaust gas cleaning systems, helping your ships remain compliant with emissions regulations and operate seamlessly. With FastCalGas, you can concentrate on what truly matters—managing your fleet efficiently.
