MMC Oyxgen Sensor Gauging Tape (Closed and Restricted Applications)
This is a fast and convenient way to measure oxygen content within a closed vessel.
The sensor measures the oxygen level in the ullage space without aspiration because the operator calibrates the tape to 20.9% oxygen before inserting it in the vapor control valve and locking it in place. The valve is then opened and the tape lowered to either 1m below deck level or to 50% of ullage space level. The digital display in the hub of the device then indicates the percentage of oxygen present in this space.
If the oxygen content exceeds 8% of the inert gas in the ullage, both audio and visual warning alarms go off. For levels above 18% the audio alarm does not sound although the alarm lamp continues to flash.
